My teaching Philosophy
My teaching philosophy is first and foremost to put students first. With this in mind I believe that every student
has a right to an education. To give all students this opportunity, I will use differentiated instruction. This means that I
will teach to different learning modalities, learning levels, and interests. To come to know what these differences are, a positive student teacher relationship must be formed. Students have to know that I care for them and their education.
My teaching philosophy specifically for math is to help students gain a better appreciation for math and
therefore personally be empowered to learn. I will be there to help students build up their confidence in math and help
them see the significance math has in their real world. I want students to come out of my classroom and not hate math. The most important thing I can teach to my future students is meta-cognition, once they have a desire to learn math then they can learn it the way that works best for him or her.
